Indoor golf centers are becoming very popular around the world. These facilities that were once privy only to the players who were at the professional or semi-professional level are now available to anyone who wants to check them out. There are plenty of different benefits to indoor golfing, including the lack of the elements to compete with as you are trying to improve your game. However, there is something different in it for everyone. Here are the most popular benefits of indoor golf centers that you should think about:

-Technology. Nature doesn’t have computers that can perform calculations, determine angles and speeds, or help you get better at your game. You just have to try and try again, which can be a very long, involved process. Indoor golf facilities have all the latest advances in technology that the professionals use to improve their game, including computerized putting and more.

-Customized support. Indoor golf facilities offer you the personalized training and attention that you deserve, without the high cost of hiring a personal coach to take to the course with you. Anyone can come and learn, get fitted, and become better at golfing with a one-on-one focus so that they get all of the help and support that they need.

-No weather issues. While it might sound quite rudimentary, the weather does play a big role in your golf game. If you can learn in a controlled environment how to get better at golf, you can take those skills outdoors and apply them when needed. Plus, you won’t have to worry about being on the back 9 when a thunderstorm suddenly rolls in and cancels your practice.

-Affordable training and improvement solutions. Anyone can afford indoor golf centers if they want to improve their game in a different kind of environment. These facilities were once thought to only be for professional golfers, but they are becoming more popular among leisure golfers, families, and beginners to the sport because they are such an affordable solution.

Thailand’s top young golfers will be looking to compatriots Nakarin Ratanakul and Thidapa Suwannapura for inspiration when they tee off in the Faldo Series Thailand Championship at Rose Garden Golf Club near Bangkok on January 13-14.

Photo caption:

The big-hitting Ratanakul, otherwise known as ‘Boom’, won the inaugural Faldo Series Asia Grand Final at Mission Hills Golf Club in China back in 2006 while Suwannapura was crowned the 2010 Faldo Series Asia Girls’ champion at Mission Hills earlier this year.

21 year-old Ratanakul is now a member of the Purdue University golf team in the US where he keeps in regular contact with Sir Nick Faldo for advice and support, while Suwannapura has used her win at Mission Hills as a springboard to further overseas victories, including the Handa Junior Masters in Australia, the Malaysian Amateur Open and the Riverwoods Junior Open in The Netherlands.  18 year-old Suwannapura is also well placed to challenge for playing rights on the LPGA Tour next year having progressed through Sectional Qualifying in the US.

With other Asian nationalities also eligible to enter the fourth Thailand Championship, a field of over 70 boys and girls aged 12 to 21 will be divided into five age categories, three for boys (Under-21, Under-18 and Under-16) and two for girls (Under-21 and Under-16).  The winner of each category will qualify for the fifth Faldo Series Asia Grand Final, an R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking event which the six-time Major Champion will host on the Faldo Course at Mission Hills in Shenzhen next March.
